THUMBS UP!
Read My Gesture broke his maidens over 1450m on Vaal Sand on Thursday 14th August, 2014, under a determined, vastly experienced and indeed, world class ride by Piere Strydom.
The son of National Emblem shortened from 66/1 to 8/1 after the late jockey change. This is a typical example of the following of Piere Strydom, especially when he teams up with the LGRS yard.
Read My Gesture had shown plenty at home, yet had reproduced none of that, come race day, in his previous 4 starts. This left the LGRS team confused and also, frustrated. In consultation with Derek Brugman, who is racing manager for champion owners Markus and Ingrid Jooste, Louis Goosen and Deon Sampson decided to make the jockey change to Piere Strydom. Also, Read My Gesture was fitted with a tongue tie, which turned out to be a very good call by Derek Brugman.
The LGRS team value the racing turnover created by punters, which pays the stakes and for this reason, requested the Tellytrack presenters to convey to the punters, that Read My Gesture would be hard to beat, should he bring his work to the track. This was also posted on the ADC website and the same SMS was sent to LGRS patrons, The LGRS team thanks all for the many SMS's received after the race.....
Spend the winnings wisely!
As always, our gratitude for the support from owners Markus and Ingrid Jooste and also Derek Brugman, who manages the string exceptionally well.
